I cannot say this enough, Trading is an art.
If you can trade well, you will do well in the game. If you cant trade, its likely you will either need to spend a lot of coinage to get nice cards to score, or you will forever sit at the bottom of the rankings above those who are more skilled at trading.
All that being said – there is one rule you should always abide by: Never get pissed off over a declined trade. Its just not worth it, and you should resist lashing out with every fiber of your being. If you make an offer to someone and they decline, that’s out of your control. If you come back and continue offering cards, expect the person to either continue declining your trades or add you to their ignore list. Just move on and let it go.
If you are making offers on a new card, expect to overpay, so its even more imperative that you don’t freak out when your normal offer is turned down.
It should be clear that all this goes without saying, but for whatever reason, some of the bunters out there just don’t get it. There are always lots of people to trade with, and that is the best part of this game.
Of course, if someone continues pestering YOU with offers, the same concept applies – just ignore and move on. If you want to educate them, fine, just make sure to keep it nice. Not everyone knows what is going on, and even when they do, its always better to take the high road.
Be a good bunter, and in the immortal words of Bill and Ted – Be awesome to each other.
I believe the correct quote is, “Be excellent to each other.” 🙂
