Wednesdays are always my favorite day of the week in Bunt, new sigs, new inserts, lots of games to watch. It didnt disappoint at all, with a lot of new cards hitting the sheet including some new Diamonds and a big addition to the signature series lineup.
SR Giancarlo Stanton Signature Series
The last 200 level sig we saw was Prince Fielder, who A) was really not worthy of that rarity, and B) was coming off the announcement he was out for the year. Not a good combo. Stanton on the other hand is one of the better hitters in the NL, and is going to be a very tough get at 200. As of right now, you will likely not be able to trade your Kershaw straight up, although that might be the case in the future. Im guessing you will likely need Kershaw plus Joey Bats or Abreu to land him, and that’s not exaggerating. This card is a big deal.
New Bowman Diamonds
I rarely will cover releases like this, as there are just too many these days, but I wanted to make sure to discuss the situation that surrounds the trading of these cards. These are only available in the VIP packs for Black and Diamond members, and from what I have seen in their accounts, they look to be pretty easy to come by. Because they are not available for everyone else, value is retained. But, because they are relatively a renewable resource, the market can get quite saturated. They are worth a few inserts, but DO NOT give up your best cards just yet. They are players that are mid level popularity this time around, which is nice, as Buehrle and Altuve just didnt do it for me during the last release.
Pending Release – TBT
There will be a TBT card coming today, and I am eager to see if they do the whole 1st and 2nd edition again. I think its a bit odd, but definitely adds value to cards that have been known to dip after the first few days. If you pull the first edition, there will definitely be lots of people looking to get in on that.
