Lots of REALLY good match ups today on the mound, and also some nice games to watch overall. A great way to start off the week.
BAL vs BOS – 11:05a
Talk about a weird start time! Last time Buchholz pitched he started off slow but picked it up. This time I expect both him and Wei-Yen Chen to pitch some nice innings and strike out some guys along the way. Both teams havent exactly had great hitting performances outside of a few, which spells some great news for points this time.
LAA vs WAS – 7:10p
Trout vs Harper for the first time, no? Either way I would start Richards as much as you have room for, as he has had some potential to get those points going. Harper has come on since starting the year slowly, and Trout is Trout.
GAME OF THE DAY – CIN vs PIT – 7:10p
F-bomb Liriano has been great this year, but Mike Leake has been that much better. I spent most of the day yesterday trying to get extra cards of both, and I cannot wait to see how this game turns out. Not a bad start for the first day of the new week. I am a bit worried of Liriano vs Votto, but this game could easily be 1-0.
MIA vs ATL – 7:10p
I am a big fan of Julio Teheran, especially this year. He has had some games where he has scored close to 300 points, but has also never gotten rocked for big negatives. He is a true safe play against the fins. Stanton may be the guy who will win POW, but I expect him to get shut down tonight too.
SD vs MIL – 8:10p
Andrew Cashner has pitched lights out so far this year, and is one of the only true bright spots for a Padres team that has started 9-10. He has averaged over 110 points per start, and you can bet this will be a test. You can also start Yonder Alonso or Jonathan Lucroy to fill out your lineup, but Cashner is the gem.
TEX vs OAK – 10:05p
Darvish is the frontrunner for the BUNT pitcher of the year so far, and tonight should be another stop on that quest. Oakland has a potent lineup as of late, but they havent shown that they can beat Yu. All 3 starts have been over 120 points due to Ks, so even if they hit him up, he can still stay above negative.
HOU vs SEA – 10:05
If you have the Felix Hernandez cards, this is your day to go nuts. Houston is terrible, and he has been pitching great. Smoak and Ackley have both been playing well behind him, and I expect a big night from the King.
