Yesterday was a LONG day of games that started early, and there is another full calendar today. Lots of pitching matchups that look nice, and lots of points to be scored.
CIN vs PIT – 7:05p
Cueto was one of the top scoring players of the week last week, and as a strikeout pitcher, he should do well against the Pirates tonight. I have been stocking up all week on his cards knowing he is good for close to 100 points per start. I would definitely take a look at accumulating him before the game gets going.
MIA vs ATL – 7:05p
This is a game where the elitists will have a dog in the fight. Jose Fernandez has only had a few cards released, and they are all SR or SCR. Aside from one start he has been unhittable, and I cant wait to see what happens against Freddie Freeman, who is one of the hottest bats in the game right now. Both are great starts.
GAME OF THE DAY – NYY vs BOS 7:10p
I hate to continue the ESPN way of looking at this game, but it is one of the best on the schedule for today with Tanaka going up against Lester. Although Tanaka has yet to be released as a card, Lester has all the normal boosts. Most of the collectors will have at least 9, so this will be the game everyone is watching. Lester has averaged over 100 points per start, and should have another test tonight.
PHI vs LAD – 10:10p
The Phils havent exactly been lighting up the points scoreboard this year other than Ryan Howard’s resurgence, but its going to be interesting to see what happens with warmer weather. Hyun-Jin Ryu has been solid all year, and I would guess he will have another good start today. Like we saw last night, past performance does not always mean that they wont get touched for a few big runs.
Love your blog! Johnny Cueto helped me out big time tonight. Thanks for the tips!!!
